Trump signs decree on implementation of sanctions against Russia
WASHINGTON, Sep 20 (PRIME) -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday signed a decree that defines sanctions against Russia envisaged by laws adopted earlier in the U.S., the White House said in a press release.
The laws include the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) and the Ukraine Freedom Support Act of 2014, among others.
The decree envisages blocking property and assets and a ban on any financial transactions with people connected with the Russian government in compliance with provisions of CAATSA.
The decree provides no certain individuals and organizations, as they are defined in each particular case by the Secretary of State and Secretary of the Treasury.
